Step by step guide to accessing the lectures on the WDI website
- Open a web browser (preferably Chrome)
- Type “womensdebateinstitute.org” in the URL bar or into a search engine (if using a search engine, the first result should be our website)
- Once on the WDI Website, locate the pull-down tabs on the top of the page, written in blue bold font
- Locate the “Programming” pull-down tab and scroll over it using your curser
- If you are on a mobile device or do not have a curser, click on the arrow located directly right of the “Programming” tab
- If you are trying to watch the Student Seminars posted on Mondays – follow these steps
- Click on the “HS Student Seminars”
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and locate the header that reads “Feminist Theories Lecture”
- Click on the link
- You should be asked to enter a password. That password has been emailed to you in a separate email.
- If you are trying to watch the Criminal Justice Reform Lecture series posted on Thursdays – follow these steps
- Click on the “Criminal Justice Reform Lecture Series”
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and locate the link that reads “CJR Lecture Series Installment”, underlined, in large, blue, bold print.
- Click on the link
- You should be asked to enter a password. That password has been emailed to you in a separate email.
FAQ
Question: I cannot find the password, what do I do?
Answer: Check your email, including the spam and trash folders to make sure you received the email containing the password.
- If you were able to find the email with the password, you should be able to access the content as usual.
- If you were not emailed the password, email womensdebateinstitute@gmail.com with your name, role with the institute (student, lecturer, discussant), and a stated request to receive the password.
Question: The password I was sent is not working, what should I do?
Answer: Double check the spelling, Capitalization, and symbols in the password and that you are typing it correctly. Note: copying and pasting the password from the email will not work. If the problem persists, email womensdebateinstitute@gmail.com with your name, role with the institute (Student, Lecturer, Discussant), and a screenshot displaying the problems you are encountering. This will assist us in resolving the problem.
Question: Is there a schedule of the events for programming?
Answer: Yes, locate the “Welcome” tab located within the “HS Programming” pull-down tab on the top of the WDI page. Click on it, and you will be directed to a page with our schedule of events.
Question: Who should I contact for help? How do I contact them?
Answer: Email the womensdebateinstitute@gmail.com along with squiddoesdebate@gmail.com. In the subject line for the email, entitle it “Tech Question – (your name)”. In the content of the email, please provide a description of the problem, your role in the organization (student, lecturer or discussant), and *optional* a screenshot of the problem you are encountering. The director of technology, Squid Monteith, will respond within 24hrs maximum.
