The 2010 schedule is still being created. But in addition to all the great topic specific and skills lectures we offer you can always count on specific classes that discuss gender and race and its relationship to the topic as well as a quality time devoted to the college process. Here you expect to learn about the application process, scholarships, financial aid, debating in college and more.

What are the main genres of negative arguments?  This should include discussion of condition/consultation CPs and non-politics generic DAs.

Constructing an Affirmative - Aleava
Learn about the basic structure of  disadvantages and critiques and discuss primary negative positions and strategies.

The Politics of the Topic - Linda
What are the political ramifications of affirmative plans?  What will politics DAs look like on this topic, and how will they interact with affirmatives?

Topicality - Ana
Learn how to construct a Topicality position, use Topicality as part of a negative strategy, and respond to a Topicality position as the affirmative.  We will discuss general Topicality arguments and theory.

Workshop for College Thinking About College - Rae Lynn, Carly, Ana, Liz - This block of time is to talk to girls about college: the application process, the search process, financial aid, debate options, college mentors etc. You might go over a sample college application and bring example of good college essays/statements/resumes. This workshop gets the girls practicing and trying out ideas in a safe space where they can get good constructive feedback. –
